Planning the Fall Vegetable Garden

 

Experienced gardeners know that a great fall garden begins with preparation now. Learn what varieties to plant and when, soil preparation, seed germination and transplanting.


Dr. Bob Randall has advised over 150 community garden projects since 1987.  He is the author of Year Round Vegetables, Fruits and Flowers for Metro-Houston.  

Diana Liga is a horticulturist who worked with community vegetable gardens as Gardens & Horticulture Coordinator for Urban Harvest.

Ray Sher has maintained a large vegetable and fruit garden for the past 17 years and has been a vendor at the Bayou City Farmers Market for the past four years.

Gary Edmondson is the Programs Director at Urban Harvest. He has a large vegetable garden and has been teaching the Growing Organic Vegetables class for the past 8 years.
