Sell What You Grow at a Farmers Market
Whether you work on a small inner city plot or a rural acreage, selling at local green markets is one of the easiest ways to get a big return for your labor. Customers are willing to pay higher retail for quality, and often appreciate making your produce a regular part of their diet. This class provides basic information on the techniques and strategies of market gardening including design, selecting vegetables for market, packaging, transportation, marketing and product development.
Gita Van Woerdenis the owner of the Animal Farm Permaculture Center and Market Farm and sells at several area markets. Jim Bundscho is a market gardener and former Manager of the Bayou City Farmers Market sells produce at the Bayou City Farmer's Market and specializes in intensive use of growing space.
