Description
Classes volunteers help check in students at the classes. They open up
the classroom, set up chairs, pass out class materials, and put everything
away at the end of class. The Classes committee meets once a month
on a Wednesday evening to talk about upcoming classes and organize
the facilitation schedule. Volunteers typically facilitate an average
of one class per month. See our classes schedule for an idea of upcoming
classes and if you could be available during those times to help facilitate.
Skills & Experience Needed
This position provides an opportunity to learn gardening, as volunteers
receive free classes as a benefit. You may earn credit for one
free class for every class you facilitate. This is a skilled position
that requires some training (we'll provide it), so long-term volunteers
are needed.
Location
Most classes are held at Urban Harvest, while a few are at the Emerson
Church west of the Galleria.
