Description
The North Montrose Civic Association Community Garden is had its groundbreaking in early spring of 2004 and features several raised vegetable beds and a toolshed for supplies. More than 95% of the harvest is donated to the Loaves and Fishes program of Magnificat House, a soup kitchen that serves over 300 meals a day. Gardeners are allowed to take a small portion of their harvest home with them. Volunteers are invited to come whenever they have a free moment to weed and maintain the garden. Periodically group workdays are scheduled, using an e-mail list maintained by the coordinator.

 

Skills & Experience Needed
Beginners are welcome.

 

Location
The garden is located at 1914 West Clay Road in the Montrose neighborhood in central Houston.
