Description
This group of volunteers supports our school and youth programs, which build, maintain, and teach in outdoor classrooms that consist of any one or more of the following: vegetable garden, orchard, habitat garden, nature pond, urban forest, or theme garden. Volunteers help increase the school & youth garden services such as written materials available to teachers for using gardens at schools. They sponsor and develops outdoor classroom workshops twice a year. They support staff efforts to help plan and build new outdoor classrooms and teach at them. They engage in efforts to increase the amount of grant money and therefore services for school and youth. This committee also includes efforts to communicate with educational administrations larger than schools.

 

Skills & Experience Needed
Experience is not required. If you have experience as a teacher, organic gardener, working with school administration or teaching gardening classes, we'd love your participation.

 

Location
Our meetings are in the Urban Harvest classroom.
