The
Rummel Creek Elementary Butterfly Garden is an outdoor classroom for science
study at Rummel Creek Elementary in the Spring Branch I.S.D. It was established
in August 2004 by Mrs. Rymer, the pre-kindergarten teacher.
The pre-k students at Rummel Creek Elementary received funding from the PTA president, Lisa Lakner, to develop a butterfly garden. This area outside the second grade windows enables students from pre-kindergarten through second grade to incorporate hands-on learning into their science study of habitats and life cycles.
