For the surrounding community to be aware that they have a community garden in their midst, it helps greatly if there is an attractive entrance and one or more neat, informative signs. Good signs are valuable additions to a garden; besides identifying you to the community, they can aid in recruiting volunteers and raising funds. When the garden's neighbors know what they have, they ask questions and get involved.

 

Urban Harvest provide handsome aluminum signs, white with long lasting green vinyl letters and UH logo, for our gardens. For a limited time, there are two styles available below cost as a service to your garden.

 

The larger sign is a real estate size of 18" by 24". It is designed to feature a garden's name: such as: "Browning Elementary" or "Old 6th Ward Community Garden," etc. The special price is $20.00.

 

The smaller sign is 12" by 18" and presents you as an "Affiliate Garden of Urban Harvest.". It is useful for a garden that already has its name on a sign. It is $15.00.

 

Both can easily be mounted on posts from your favorite hardware store or wired to a garden fence. They have Urban Harvest's phone number and web address, so people can, if you aren't there, learn more about community gardens and connect with you. You can also purchase vinyl numbers separately and put a local number on the sign.
