Resources for Vendors

Our vendors include vegetable, fruit, dairy, egg, honey and other farm products as well as handmade items such as bread and prepared foods. We are currently not accepting applications for arts and crafts, handmade items or prepared food items. We are looking for additional vendors to provide freshly harvested fruits and vegetables, especially (but not exclusively) if you use organic growing practices. We are also accepting applications for vendors selling meats or pasteurized milk, but not other dairy products at this time. We expect to have more space for prepared food vendors after February 1, 2009.

Our mission is to create an environment where Houstonians can see where their food comes from and support local food and food growers. Our market supports that mission by focusing our selection of vendors on fresh locally grown food sold by the folks that grew it, and prepared food sold by those who made it.

If you would like to participate in the Bayou City Farmers Market as a vendor or as part of the Gardeners Corner, we would love to hear from you. Backyard gardeners who would like to participate a few weeks out of the year are encouraged to contact us, as well as small and medium-scale farmers. To get more information, e-mail our market manager.

If you're thinking of becoming a vendor but need a little encouragement to get involved, check out our guide to how you can Sell Your Produce at the Farmers’ Market!

When you are ready to apply, the documents you need are available above.

Either fax them to our office or e-mail them to Julia Trainer, the market manager.
