Coming Soon: A New Urban Harvest Garden

 

      

Urban Harvest's move to our new location at 2311 Canal means we must bid a tearful farewell to our teaching garden at 1900 Kane and plan a new teaching garden. Designs and planning are underway and we plan to construct an urban farm.

 

The new garden will be a teaching tool similar to the old garden - a place where those new to fruit and vegetable gardening, new to organics or new to the Houston area can learn about gardening here. The garden will feature raised beds, a variety of fruit trees, a composting area and a variety of vegetables growing in our year-round growing season. We also plan to feature one or more handicapped-accessible gardening beds.

 

If you are interested in helping with construction of the new garden and/or tending plants in the new garden as a volunteer, e-mail the volunteer coordinator with your interest. She is keeping a database of interested folks and will contact you with upcoming workdays.
