Urban Harvest offers classes throughout Houston. Below are our most commonly used sites along with directions on how to get there. Note: All addresses coincide with Google Maps. Many GPS systems will not take you to the correct location.

University of St. Thomas

The University of St. Thomas address is 3800 Montrose Blvd. Houston, TX  77006, located just west of downtown. It is bordered on the east by Montrose Blvd., on the south by Richmond Avenue, on the north by West Alabama and on the west side by Yupon Street. Parking is available in the Moran Garage (corner of West Alabama and Graustark Street), there may be a $2 charge.  Parking is also be available on the street, observe parking signs. Campus map

The Houston Museum of Natural Science

The Houston Museum of Natural Science address is  5555 Herman Park Drive, Houston, TX  77030. Our monthly classes are held either in the science classrooms or the Moran Lecture Hall located on the building lower level. Check in first at the box office to get your class ticket to use for discounted parking in the adjacent parking lot, as well as to tour the museum. There is paid parking (with class ticket – HMNS member $5/nonmember $10)attached to The Museum, or you can park in nearby parking lots or in the street for free.

Westbury Community Garden

The Urban Harvest classroom is located in our building at 2311 Canal Street, Houston, TX  77003. The building is located just east of downtown near the intersection of Canal Street and Navigation (Franklin Street turns into Navigation at Canal Street). We’re on the east side of I-59 from the Minute Maid Baseball Stadium.

Westbury Community Garden is located on the southwest side of Houston just north of Highway 90 and Hillcroft Avenue. It hosts many of our “hands-on” classes. Although theses classes are not set up for full class participation they do have demonstrations of how various activities are done. The Planting the Fall Vegetable Garden and the Constructing the Home Fruit Vegetable Garden are commonly taught here. Physical address: The address to use is 12581 Dunlap Street, Houston, TX  77035, alternately if you look on Google Maps for the Outdoor Learning Center, Dunlap, Houston, you get the exact spot. Please park along the street in front of the pavilion, as the parking lot is for community gardeners.

University of Houston Campus

The University of Houston in located in the south part of town near I45 South and Cullen Street. Our Growing Organic Vegetables series and our permaculture modules are taught here.  McElhinney Hall

United Way of Greater Houston

The United Way is located inside the loop just south of Washington Avenue on Waugh Drive. We often teach our “Prepare for the Fruit Tree Sale” talks. This year we plan to use this location for talks that have a wide appeal. Physical address: 50 Waugh Drive, Houston, Texas 77007

Animal Farm Permaculture Center

This permaculture site is located an hour and twenty minutes west of Houston in Cat Spring, TX. Many of our permaculture modules have at least one class at this location. Physical address: 16723 Sycamore, Cat Spring, TX 78933 (only shows up correctly on Google Maps.)

Laughing Frog Farm

Laughing Frog Farm is located 45 minutes north west of Houston of off 290 in Hempstead, TX. We teach the “Starting Your Market Garden Business” and the “Aquaponics “class at this site. Physical address: 38238 Wiggins Rd, Hempstead Tx  77445
