ALL ABOUT STRAWBERRIES, BLACKBERRIES AND BLUEBERRIES
TUES. OCT. 11, 2022 @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
LIVE ZOOM CLASS
PRESENTER: JUSTIN DUNCAN
Houston metropolitan area berry production.
Berries are a fan favorite and there is just nothing like picking fresh berries and eating them right off of the vine or bush. This class will teach the different requirements of each type so one can make the best decisions about which varieties to grow!
Justin Duncan is a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist with the National Center for Appropriate Technology's Southwest Regional Office. He has a BS in Agronomy from Prairie View A&M University and an MS in Plant Breeding from Texas A&M University. He’s spent years figuring out the nuts-and-bolts of successful organic farming in the humid South, concentrating mainly on sweet potatoes, strawberries, niche market ethnic specialty crops, cover crops and drought mitigation techniques. He is currently working on cover crop projects in south Texas to help farmers there build organic matter in their soil.
If you cannot attend the class as scheduled, there are no refunds or substitutions.
Class recording will be sent to participants as available.
Registration will close 24 hours prior to classes Monday - Saturday and 48 hours before all Sunday classes.
(After registration you will receive two emails, one is a receipt and the other will be sent 3 days prior to the class with event details that include zoom link and contact information. Contact education@urbanharvest.Org for questions.)
