In making the most of our small spaces, it's a good idea to think about an edible landscape. This class will discuss the basics of good landscape design based on sound gardening principles and aesthetic beauty. Included will be instructions on how to design the basic components of the garden space and how to accomplish much of this through the use of food plants - from traditional vegetable crops to edible flowers, fruit tree, and more.
Angela Chandler is a lifelong gardener and enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion with others. She and her husband tend a 1/2 acre micro-homestead, growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and bee-friendly plants. Angela is currently a member of the Garden Writers Association, the California Rare Fruit Growers Association, and the Louisana Society for Horticultural Research, as well as being a retired Texas Master Gardener. She has written feature articles in gardening magazines, appeared as a guest on both TV & radio shows, spoken around the country at various events, and currently teaches a monthly class for the Urban Harvest/Houston Museum of Natural Science. Her website, The Garden Academy, provides its reader with a variety of gardening information geared specifically towards Gulf Coast gardens.
Registration will close 24 hours prior to classes Monday-Saturday and 48 hours before all Sunday classes.
