 Tis the season for delicious cookies and tea. Please join us and get ready to use those fresh herbs. We'll begin with a triple ginger cookie and learn how to use fresh ginger, powered ginger, and crystalized ginger in this recipe along with growing tips and health benefits of ginger. This in conjunction with the best steeped herbs that pair well with these holiday cookies. 

PRESENTER: Kimberly Perry serves as the Food Access Director for Urban Harvest where she helps to oversee the Mobile Market and Community Gardens’ initiatives. Prior to this she was the Harris County Extension Agent for Prairie View University where she helped to educate local growers and farmers. Mrs. Perry also co-founded and operated Healthy Habits Produce Co-op that distributed produce to over 300 families. Kim was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, where she received a bachelor's degree from the Metropolitan State University in the field of Social Work with an emphasis on Child Welfare and the Law, and she received a Master's degree in Agriculture Science from Texas A&M Kingsville.  She’s has been featured in many blogs, newsletters, and educational speaking engagements. In 2019 she was awarded with the Outstanding Service Award from the Harris County Master Gardeners Association where she has been a Master Gardener for over 6 years.
