FRUIT TREE RECOVERY AFTER WINTER STORM URI

ZOOM LIVE CLASS BY INVITATION
In this class we will focus on learning the tools and procedures needed to restore badly damaged vegetation which may include techniques in restoring neglected, abused trees and shrubs. This is an opportunity to learn basic restorative pruning techniques and when and what type of fertilizer and other materials that can be used to encourage new growth.
We may also touch on what one may want to do to protect our plants in the event we have a warning of another future cold event.
PRESENTER: Rico Montenegro is the chief arborist for the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, a non-profit donating fruit tree orchards and technical training around the world and is experienced in all aspects of plant propagation, greenhouse production, and nursery management. Rico has established, organized and provided program training for the Orange County Master Gardener Programs as well as annual training for the Shasta County Master Garden program and is knowledgeable in landscape design, consultation, site preparation, installation, pest and disease control, fertilizing, pruning, and irrigation systems among many other topics.
