Spring Garden Workshop
Join us in the garden for an awesome presentation by longtime community gardener and food advocate, Terry Garner. This spring garden workshop has a special emphasis on seasonal favorites in African American cuisine. Participants will learn how to grow their favorite vegetables in small urban spaces. A few topics we’ll cover-
- When and what time is best to start preparing the garden for spring.
- Which veggies are African American seasonal favorites for the Houston area.
- How to harvest herbs and cool weather vegetables.
- Seasonal seeds and transplants will be shared.
Terry Garner is a Master Gardener and Coordinator of the Palm Center Community Garden and has been a member historic Alabama Garden for over 25 years and is founder of Creston MBC Community Garden in the Greater Fifth Ward. Terry, now retired, has enjoyed gardening his entire life and love sharing his knowledge and passion for gardening. His motto is "to share what you know and grow.”
If you cannot attend the class as scheduled, there are no refunds or substitutions.
Registration will close 24 hours prior to most classes and 48 hours before all Sunday classes.
