The popularity of growing fruits & veggies in containers is expanding by leaps and bounds.  Container gardening has so many advantages!  It's easier to manage the soil, control weeds, and it's easier on the back and knees.  You don't even have to have a garden to grow food!  This class will cover a variety of container sizes and style options. You will learn about the right soils and fertilizers to use and how to manage watering and yearly maintenance.  We will cover the types of crops you can grow in containers, succession planting, crop rotation, and freeze protection.   

PRESENTER:  

Angela Chandler is a lifelong gardener and enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion with others. She and her husband tend a 1/2-acre micro-homestead, growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and bee-friendly plants. Angela is currently a member of the Garden Writers Association, the California Rare Fruit Growers Association, and the Louisiana Society for Horticultural Research, as well as being a retired Texas Master Gardener. She has written feature articles in gardening magazines, appeared as a guest on both TV & Radio shows, spoken around the country at various events, and currently teaches a monthly class for the Urban Harvest/Houston Museum of Natural Science. Her website, The Garden Academy, provides its readers with a variety of gardening information geared specifically towards Gulf Coast gardens.  

If you cannot attend the class as scheduled, there are no refunds or substitutions.  

Registration will close 24 hours prior to most classes and 48 hours before all Sunday classes.
