GROWING YOUR OWN CUT FLOWER GARDEN WITH THE ROOTED GARDEN

A kitchen garden often includes flowers for pollinators and also a cutting flower garden to supply flowers for the table. Join us for a hands-on in the garden planting demonstration by the Rooted Garden of its favorite cut flowers, including Zinnias, Marigolds, Texas native pollinators, Black-eyed Susan's and more!  Participants will receive a  sampling of cut flowers and information about when to plant them in the Houston area.

About Heather Hendrick: In my former life, I was a Registered Nurse. I chose the field of nursing because I was fascinated by science, nutrition, and the human body and passionate about helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. I graduated from nursing school eager to start my new dream job where I would get paid to make the world a healthier place. However, that did not happen. It was time for me to look further up the line - before people get sick before they are lying in a hospital bed before their body is shutting down before they are met with a scary diagnosis. Where can I spend my energy helping my community truly thrive and equip them with the tools to age well? As a lifelong gardener, I had no idea the answer to that question was literally right in my own backyard. The garden. The garden is the answer. It has always been the answer.

 Registration will close 24 hours prior to most classes and 48 hours before all Sunday classes.
