HERBS FOR POLLINATORS & PEOPLE PLUS ASK THE EXPERT
SATURDAY, NOV. 18, 2023 9:30 - 11:30 AM
ZOOM LIVE CLASS
Insects might conjure up images of creepy crawlies to some of us, but insects serve many functions in the garden, with pollination being one of the primary benefits. Herbs naturally attract beneficial insects by offering a variety of flowers for nectar and essential oils. Some herbs can also repel pest species. Working herbs into your landscape properly can make a difference to who you are inviting in. Overall, herbs create a healthier, more diverse landscape for you and the insects you really need.
This class will follow a slightly different format, being a little more relaxed and followed by an extensive Q & A period with Angela. Get your questions ready and join us.
Angela Chandler is a lifelong gardener and enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion with others. She and her husband tend a 1/2 acre micro-homestead, growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and bee-friendly plants. Angela is currently a member of the Garden Writers Association, the California Rare Fruit Growers Association, and the Louisana Society for Horticultural Research, as well as being a retired Texas Master Gardener. She has written feature articles in gardening magazines, appeared as a guest on both TV & radio shows, spoken around the country at various events, and currently teaches a monthly class for the Urban Harvest/Houston Museum of Natural Science. Her website, The Garden Academy, provides its readers with a variety of gardening information geared specifically towards Gulf Coast gardens.
