IN THE GARDEN: COOL WEATHER VEGETABLE GARDENING

IN PERSON – TEACHING GARDEN
This introductory organic gardening class is hands-on in the Urban Harvest Teaching Gardens. The foundation for growing healthy, nutrient dense vegetables is healthy soil - structure, chemistry and as important are supporting microscopic soil organisms. We will demonstrate and students will participate in soil building and management, fertilization, composting, mulching and planting by seed, plant starts and transplants. Vegetable varieties to be planted for Fall gardens will be provided in a handout.
This class is hands-on, with presentation at the garden, so be ready to get dirty! Limited to 15 participants, no walk-ins.
The class will take place outdoors with masks available and social distancing in place.
There are no refunds on classes.
PRESENTER: Gabriel Borja is the Urban Harvest Mobile Market Manager.
