MCGOVERN CENTENNIAL FAMILY GARDENS
This introductory organic gardening class is hands on at the McGovern Centennial Family Gardens. The foundation for growing healthy, nutrient dense vegetables is healthy soil - structure, chemistry and as important are supporting microscopic soil organisms. We will demonstrate and students will participate in soil building and management, fertilization, composting, mulching and planting with seed and transplants. Vegetable varieties to be planting will be provided in a handout. This class is hands-on, so be ready to get dirty!
The class is hands-on for about 30 minutes with the presentation at the garden, so be ready to get dirty! In partnership with the Hermann Park Conservancy. Limited to 25 participants, no walk ins. There are no refunds on classes.

Parking is available at the Centennial Gardens parking lot (Lot C) on Hermann Drive with entrances at Crawford and Jackson Streets, https://bit.ly/2REdlOU Enter through the Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion and follow the Urban Harvest orange/white arrow signs to the Family Gardens near the fence line along Hermann Drive. This is an outdoor class and will run rain or shine. Please dress to get dirty, and wear closed toe shoes, long pants. We will spend about 30 minutes of the class prepping the garden bed, planting transplants and seeds.
