Learn how Urban Harvest is building resilience through it's affiliate community garden network and explore how we can continue to strengthen and support community gardens for a resilient food system. Share resources, build relationships, and leverage expertise for more sustainable gardens.

Presenter: Emily Foxman is the Program and Development Manager at Urban Harvest. She leads the organization's research initiatives and foundation-based fundraising, and is committed to Urban Harvest's mission to cultivate thriving communities through gardening and access to healthy, local food.
Presenter: Karim Alston is a former art teacher, two time teacher of the year and school garden champion and advocate at Gallegos Elementary, HISD. He is currently representing the Growing Roots East End Network (G.R.E.E.N) which serves the families and students of the East End Houston by growing food collectively and strengthening our community and health. Karim is an active member of the American Community Garden Association (ACGA).
