Nature is Always Right - Restoration Agriculture for Urban Gardens

You don't have to be a land baron to be a land steward.  Over time, urban construction practices and traditional yard maintenance degrade the natural health of the soil and the total ecosystem within your yard.  This leads to problems that cannot be fixed by the next big thing in a bottle or a bag.  The answer lies in nature and what we can learn through observation and mimicry.  It's not at all difficult, and it takes far less time than you think.  A few simple actions can result in big differences within a few short months.  And in a year's time, you can have a healthier landscape that is actually easier and cheaper to maintain.  Restoration agriculture isn't just for farmers!  Whether you are growing food, a lawn, or an ornamental landscape, restoration agriculture practices can make a difference.

PRESENTER:

Angela Chandler is a lifelong gardener and enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion with others. She and her husband tend a 1/2-acre micro-homestead, growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and bee-friendly plants. Angela is currently a member of the Garden Writers Association, the California Rare Fruit Growers Association, and the Louisiana Society for Horticultural Research, as well as being a retired Texas Master Gardener. She has written feature articles in gardening magazines, appeared as a guest on both TV & Radio shows, spoken around the country at various events, and currently teaches a monthly class for the Urban Harvest/Houston Museum of Natural Science. Her website, The Garden Academy, provides its readers with a variety of gardening information geared specifically towards Gulf Coast gardens.

If you cannot attend the class as scheduled, there are no refunds or substitutions.
