SEED ASSETS: OUR FOOD, FIBER, FLOWERS AND FUTURE
TUE. 6/25/19 6:30PM - 8:30PM
HOUSTON MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE
Inside every seed is the potential for the next generation of food, fiber, flowers, and the thousands of products derived from plants. Many species of birds and mammals evolved with a specific seed, or plant grown from seed and threats to the future of those seeds place species in danger. Seed activists believe that seed diversity is one of mankind's most valuable assets, yet the US lost 93% of its seed diversity between 1903 and 1983. Changes in agriculture and the urbanization of our culture have had an effect on seed production and availability. The solution to this pending crisis may lie in the hands of every farmer, gardener and homeowner across America. Join us to learn about seed, its future, and ways that you can help plant the seeds of a brighter and more secure future.
There are no refunds on classes.
